Generation renewal; a challenge for the Greek and European agriculture

Last October, the European Commission presented the Strategy for Generational Renewal in Agriculture to address the problem of an aging rural population. According to Commission data, in 2020 only 12% of farmers were under 40 years old, while the average age of the farming population was 57.

GAIA EPICHEIREIN implements an awareness campaign under the CAP4Youth project“CAP for Young Farmers: Generational Renewal and Sustainable Agriculture in Greece” — with the support of the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Commission.
