Vassilis Pyrgiotis was born in Sitia, Crete. He is a Senior Project Manager and Head of the Brussels Office of GAIA EPICHEIREIN, specializing in the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), the olive oil sector, and the representation of the agricultural and cooperative sector at both European and international levels.
He represents GAIA EPICHEIREIN within the structures of Copa-Cogeca and Farm Europe, in the European Commission's Civil Dialogue Groups (CDGs), as well as in the International Olive Council (IOC), actively participating in European and international policy-making processes. In parallel, he has extensive experience in the design and coordination of projects focusing on rural development, innovation, and the digital transformation of agriculture.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in International and European Studies from the University of Piraeus and a Master's degree in Geopolitics and International Relations from Sciences Po Toulouse. He is fluent in Greek, English, French, and Spanish.
