Ioannis Glentzakis is a graduate of Secondary Technical Education in Mechanical Engineering and has extensive professional experience in the cooperative and agricultural sectors.

He began his professional career as an office employee at Motor Oil, where he worked from 1982 to 1988. From 1988 to 2013, he was employed by the Agricultural Cooperative of Rethymno in the Agricultural Supplies Department. In this role, he was responsible for the management of fertilizers, plant protection products and animal feed, as well as the management of commercial goods and food products.

Alongside his professional career, he has played an active role in local governance and the cooperative movement. He served as President of the Local Community of Asi Gonia for two consecutive four-year terms.

He is currently serving his second term as President of ASEAR AES S.A. and his third term as President of the Agricultural Cooperative of Rethymno, to which he was elected with 93% of the vote. He also serves as President of the Rethymno Energy Union (EN.ER. ASE).
