Agrotica 2026: GAIA EPICHEIREIN’s strong presence highlighting CAP4Youth and the new CAP Support Measures
GAIA EPICHEIREIN’s participation in the 31st International Agrotica Fair was particularly successful, attracting a large number of visitors and professionals from the agricultural sector. Special interest was shown in the presentations of the European CAP4Youth programme, which focuses on supporting and empowering the new generation of farmers.

At the same time, there was strong attendance at the company’s informational presentations, which focused on direct payments and interventions under the Rural Development Programme (RDP), with particular emphasis on the upcoming calls for Improvement Plans and actions related to carbon footprint reduction.
The series of informational sessions was held within the framework of the project “CAP4Youth – CAP for Young Farmers: Generational Renewal and Sustainable Agriculture in Greece”, which aims to highlight the available tools provided by the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) to attract and support young farmers.

More specifically, the presentations included an extensive reference to the allocation of CAP support between the two main pillars: direct payments and interventions under the Rural Development Programme (RDP).
Within the scope of support under Pillar I, the presentations analysed direct payments, coupled support, the redistributive payment, as well as environmental payments through eco‑schemes. At the same time, the support for young farmers was presented, which aims to assist newcomers during their entry into agricultural production over the first five years.

With regard to the interventions under the Rural Development Programme (RDP), particular reference was made to the upcoming call for Improvement Plans, which constitute the primary support instrument for the expansion and modernisation of agricultural holdings. In addition, the new CAP requirements were analysed, which contribute to the sustainability of Greek agriculture and create the conditions for enhancing competitiveness and strengthening life in rural areas.
The information sessions were delivered by members of the Department of Agricultural Development & Project Management, Mr Nikos Papakonstantinou and Ms Evangelia Tsermou, at the GAIA EPICHEIREIN booth (Stand 28, Hall 2), focusing on the available CAP instruments and the interventions of the Rural Development Programme, with particular emphasis on incentives for young farmers. At the same time, GAIA EPICHEIREIN’s representatives were available to all interested parties to address specific questions and provide guidance in line with the directions of the CAP 2023–2027 programming period.

The booth was also visited by representatives of the State, including ministers, deputy ministers, as well as officials from Regional Authorities and other institutional bodies, confirming the central role of GAIA EPICHEIREIN in informing and supporting the agricultural community.
The newspaper Ypaithros Chora features an article dedicated to GAIA EPICHEIREIN’s presence at Agrotica 2026.
GAIA EPICHEIREIN stands consistently alongside farmers, offering proposals and solutions that contribute to the upgrading of agricultural and/or livestock holdings through a holistic and rational approach to the management of available resources.
